2026: The Year of Reform in the West Midlands?

Reform UK is on course to make significant gains across the West Midlands.

With all seven metropolitan councils going to the polls in 2026, around three million residents will be taking part in one of the largest election cycles in the country.

Polling remains strong for Reform, while the Greens are closing in on Labour and the Conservatives. The long-standing duopoly in the region’s local government is under real pressure.

The Cavendish Midlands team has collated ONS census data from the 2025 local elections, creating a profile for Reform-voting wards. Using this as an evidence base, we think the scale of Reform gains in the region will be unprecedented.
