A year is a long time in politics, and in the 12 months since we first published Who’s Who – Inside Government, there’s a been a lot of change behind the famous black door of 10 Downing Street. That’s why we’ve launched a new, fully updated report, mapping the spheres of power inside the Prime Minister’s team and across government.

The latest edition of Who’s Who – Inside Government provides a rigorous, up-to-date analysis of the advisers and teams shaping government policy and delivery. Following the recent reshuffle, lots of the faces across No.10 and Government departments have changed or moved. As new figures step into pivotal roles and the machinery of government evolves, understanding these dynamics is critical for effective engagement.

James Bird, Head of Government Relations at Cavendish, said:

“The reshuffle that followed Angela Rayner’s resignation was significant and wide reaching. Although many Cabinet positions were filled by existing members of Starmer’s top team, and most took their Special Advisers with them to their new departments, there’s still a lot of churn amongst the SpAds. Keeping on top of who’s who and who’s where is critical.

“Importantly for our clients, as new and returning advisers get to grips with their new briefs, they are consistently on the lookout for input and engagement from businesses – and that’s where we come in. Our senior team is full of people who have worked in the Labour Party for years, alongside those who are now in senior positions in No.10 and across Whitehall.”
