Our aviation sector research
We are at the forefront of the sector, continuously adding to our knowledge and insight by conducting regular research.
In partnership with YouGov, we undertook a research project to find out how MPs and their constituents really feel about the aviation sector.
25% of MPs reported noise pollution to be the most frequently raised aviation issue, with 20% also raising parking charges.
Having worked for over 30 years in the communications sector, Jamie has experience across a broad range of disciplines. For the last two decades he has specialised in gaining public understanding and planning consent for projects from nuclear power stations to new roads and railways. Jamie heads up our Infrastructure and Energy division and is supported by a team specialising in the relevant engagement processes, such as Development Consent Order (DCO) consultations and hybrid bills.
Laura is an experienced planning communications and public affairs specialist having worked in the built environment industry for over 15 years’. Leading our aviation sector, Laura has experience of working with a number of aviation clients including AGS Group, Farnborough Airport and Gatwick Airport. Laura is supporting a number of our clients to navigate the complexities of CAP1616 consultations and led the campaign which successfully changed the tide for the Southampton Airport runway extension planning application and gained them consent at a local level.
For over a decade, Tom has advised the UK’s leading organisations and businesses, helping them to achieve real cut-through with government and regulators. Tom has considerable experience in the aviation sector, having previously advised clients including, the Civil Aviation Authority, Regional & City Airports, and Hybrid Air Vehicles.
Prior to entering consultancy, Tom provided policy support to Conservative MPs in Westminster and to the ECR Group’s Transport Spokesperson in the European Parliament. A Conservative parliamentary candidate at the last election, Tom has an extensive network within Westminster and the regions.
Before joining Cavendish Tristan had over a decade of experience working in frontline politics including serving as a senior elected member in Birmingham. During this time he also served as member of an airport board and the West Midlands Combined Authority Investment Board.
Tristan leads our public affairs work in the Midlands working on behalf of a range of infrastructure clients including Birmingham Airport (the UK’s 7th busiest) and National Highways. Tristan provides expert insight and strategic advice to clients who are seeking to understand the political and community landscape of Britain’s second city and the wider Midlands region.
Olivia is passionate about delivering engagement and consultation to communities and stakeholders impacted by infrastructure projects. She is currently working with Gatwick Airport supporting their airspace change proposals. She has previously worked on multiple transport projects , including A303 Stonehenge, Thameslink Programme, Metropolitan Line Extension and Abu Dhabi Airport Terminal 2.
She has over 10 years’ experience in developing comprehensive communications strategies which support a project’s development in a meaningful way and putting in place processes which deliver robust and accurate analysis, allowing the narrative of engagement to be clearly reported.
Katy is an experienced communications professional with an in-depth knowledge of best practice community engagement. Katy is currently supporting Farnborough Airport’s operational change proposals and AGS Group’s airspace change proposals, and has worked across a range of projects throughout the UK, including large scale infrastructure and strategic land. Katy is passionate about inclusive engagement methods and delivering thorough and comprehensive communication programmes.
With additional qualifications in PR, Katy is also well-versed in media and reputation management and enjoys exploring creative strategies to deliver genuinely accessible consultation for communities.
An established public affairs specialist and political campaigner, Samuel has extensive experience designing and delivering engagement, advocacy, and consultation strategies for corporates, charities, and major developments.
A creative and adept communicator, he has delivered engagement support and political counsel at Westminster and the local authority level, developing particular expertise in the aviation sector, from national aviation policy to runway extension schemes and airspace change.
As a borough councillor and deputy chairman of his local Conservative Association, Samuel brings considerable campaign experience and an appreciation of the cross-pressures faced by elected decision-makers.
Olivia is an public affairs Account Manager with a focus on government relations and corporate communications. She delivers effective advice and communications support to clients across the built environment, informed by an insightful understanding into the decision-making processes in Westminster and Whitehall.
With experience working for a major travel management company, she brings extensive understanding of the national policy context regarding the future of aviation, including the development of Sustainable Aviation Fuel in the UK.
