Strong level of support among stakeholders and the wider public were received for CAM.
Background
Cavendish were tasked with devising and delivering the public consultation and stakeholder/business engagement in connection to both the city tunnels element and the wider routes of the CAM metro-style network proposed across Cambridgeshire.
Strategy
To give the project an identity, Cavendish created a new brand and logo as well as a project website. To communicate the need for the project, we also produced a video for the scheme, incorporating interviews with key local stakeholders.
Six public consultation events were held across Cambridge during the non-statutory consultation, which were publicised via a range of methods, including local media, social media, and the project website. Briefings were held with key stakeholders, including councillors, MPs and major business contacts. To raise awareness for the consultation, an invitation was distributed to over 12,000 households and businesses in the vicinity of the project.
The
results.
A total of 493 responses were received to the consultation from stakeholders and communities. The feedback showed there was a strong level of support among both stakeholders and the wider public for CAM to be delivered to improve transport connectivity and enable growth across the wider region, and that CAM would be well used for both business and leisure purposes by individuals who, on the whole, currently travel into Cambridge and around the wider region and into Cambridge by car.
