Our role
Cavendish supported the preparation of the Outline Business Case through stakeholder engagement, consultation and strategic communications activity across the proposed CAM network.
We developed the project’s brand identity, digital platform and communications materials to help explain the vision for the scheme and make complex infrastructure proposals more accessible to stakeholders and the public.
Alongside a programme of public consultation events across Cambridge, we delivered engagement with councillors, MPs, businesses and wider regional stakeholders to strengthen understanding of the project and its potential role in supporting future growth across the region.
We also produced campaign video content featuring local stakeholders to help communicate the wider economic and connectivity benefits of the proposed network.
The challenge
As pressures on housing, connectivity and economic growth intensified across Greater Cambridge, regional leaders faced growing demand for major transport investment capable of supporting long-term sustainable growth.
For the proposed Cambridgeshire Autonomous Metro, the challenge was to build understanding and support for a complex and ambitious transport infrastructure programme with significant implications for communities, businesses and the future development of the region.
The project needed to demonstrate how improved transport connectivity could support economic growth, reduce congestion and unlock wider regional development while maintaining stakeholder confidence across a politically and publicly sensitive environment.
The impact
The consultation programme generated strong levels of engagement and support across stakeholder and public audiences.
A total of 493 consultation responses were received, with feedback demonstrating broad support for the proposed network and its role in improving transport connectivity and enabling growth across Greater Cambridge.
The programme also helped establish a stronger platform for ongoing stakeholder engagement and future development of the CAM proposal.
