Our role

Cavendish works with Elsevier to deliver integrated communications and reputation-building programmes focused on science, innovation and research impact.

Our work combines media engagement, content development and strategic storytelling to help translate complex scientific research into accessible narratives capable of engaging both specialist and mainstream audiences.

Alongside promoting major research and journal content, we support initiatives designed to strengthen Elsevier’s broader role within the scientific community, including partnerships recognising early-career researchers and programmes supporting women scientists in developing countries.

We also help position Elsevier more prominently within conversations around the accessibility, relevance and societal impact of scientific research. .

The challenge

As debates around research funding, access to knowledge, scientific trust and the societal role of research intensify, organisations operating within scientific publishing face growing scrutiny around their contribution to the global research ecosystem.

For Elsevier, the challenge is not simply promoting journals and products, but strengthening wider understanding of the organisation’s role in supporting scientific discovery, innovation and research communities globally.

The business needs to build credibility and relevance across a broad stakeholder environment spanning researchers, policymakers, universities, funders and mainstream audiences, while making complex scientific research more visible and accessible.
