Cavendish undertook early engagement with the local community, hosting an in-person consultation event to present the proposals, discuss the plans with local residents and receive feedback.

around corners.

Strategy

All local councillors in the area attended the event Cavendish hosted, giving us an opportunity to discuss the proposals with them and answer any questions. Cavendish created a bespoke project website, those unable to attend the event were able to view consultation material and leave feedback.

We created a project Facebook page to post regularly about the proposals and the benefits associated with the project. We also engaged proactively with the local media using press releases, combined with the active presents on social media with strong call to actions, we were able to control the narrative and create positive messaging.

We received nearly 1,000 supportive comments throughout our consultation period. As the application progresses, we are able to use to this narrative when engaging with elected members.
