What we are providing

Cavendish developed a regional public affairs strategy.

Background

Placefirst as a suburban build to rent developer and regeneration specialist, with a growing portfolio of over 1500 homes mostly in the north of England.

The wider BTR sector is something which is often misunderstood by MPs and policy makers who often don’t realise that developers also build family homes, not just apartments.

Placefirst have previously partnered with local authorities to identify suitable sites for development and wanted to meet with more across the country to grow their development pipeline.

Strategy

Cavendish developed a full regional and national level public affairs strategy,  designed to help with Placefirst’s exposure at combined authority and Westminster level to ensure they are positioned as an authoritative leader in the BTR sector and a leading provider of quality homes through brownfield regeneration.

This included:

  • A combined authority engagement plan
  • A Westminster engagement plan to build a base of parliamentary support
  • Polling and political PR support
  • Political party conference engagement plan

Meetings with a number of combined authority leaders across the country have led to new site opportunities for Placefirst which were previously unknown.

Site visits with MPs and positive results from opinion polling with over 500 councillors on their views on BTR has proven that Placefirst’s product is desired by councillors.
