Cavendish is currently supporting St George, who are working in partnership with Morrisons to deliver regeneration at the Camden Goods Yard, located on the site of the Morrisons supermarket and former petrol station in Camden Town

The first phase of the project, which was completed at the end of 2020, saw the demolition of the petrol station located on Chalk Farm Road, and the construction of a new temporary Morrisons store which opened in February 2021.

Strategy

The second phase of development focuses on the delivery of the main site, which comprises the existing Morrisons store and associated car park. The construction of the main site began in March 2021 and is set to be completed in 2027.

Cavendish was appointed to provide strategic counsel for amendments to the previously consented Camden Goods Yard planning application; in addition to developing and managing a robust consultation and engagement strategy for political and community stakeholders.

The outcome

We have worked successfully on three planning applications for amendments to the Camden Goods Yard regeneration project, the most recent of which – an application to amend the existing office consent for more floorspace – was consented by Camden’s planning committee on 30th January 2023.

Cavendish was also appointed to manage the construction communications, chairing the monthly Construction Working Group meetings and providing wider construction communications support.
