  2. Inside Holyrood.

Inside Holyrood.

A guide to the people, power structures and relationships shaping policy and decision-making across the Scottish Government and Parliament.

Scotland’s policy landscape is becoming more complex, a picture starkly painted by the by-election result in Aberdeen South. But while Scottish policy and politics is evolving, it remains stable compared to Westminster, where UK Government engagement is now seemingly tied to the fortunes of Andy Burnham, his policy platform, and the team he selects to support him.

For organisations, that contrast matters. With Westminster entering a period of acute instability and uncertainty, Scotland offers a more consistent political environment in which to plan, advocate and act.A new intake of MSPs, a slimmed-down Cabinet, a minority government and the insurgent presence of Reform  mean organisations can no longer rely on a one-size-fits-all approach. The dynamics are different, and so is the way influence works.

Inside Holyrood goes beyond a simple directory. From Cabinet Secretaries and Special Advisers to opposition voices, Committees and the civil service, it maps the ecosystem where policy is developed, debated, and delivered.
