The UN needed a centrepiece to launch Human Rights Day at its New York HQ and spread the word globally about ‘Free & Equal’, its LGBTQ rights campaign. It needed to be serious but engaging; sensitive but memorable.
How we assisted
How we assisted
Through compelling animation, Cavendish told the ongoing history of the LGBTQ struggle for equal rights. Designed for online sharing, it featured the popular song, ‘Same Love’, from US rap star Macklemore and producer Ryan Lewis.
The New York audience warmly received the film, including speakers such as tennis legend Martina Navratilova, NBA star Jason Collins and Ivan Simonovic, the UN’s Assistant Secretary General for Human Rights, and has been viewed over 50,000 times.
