We think
around corners.
Background
Background
We supported Unibail Rodamco Westfield with their plans to submit a new outline planning application to increase the height and density of the extant consent for the next phase of the Westfield Regeneration, referred to as Block C.
Plans saw the height of the buildings increased by over 10 storeys at the tallest point to unlock the delivery of 1,700 homes, with less than policy compliant levels of affordable housing.

In the context of growing concerns over the cumulative impact of height, construction and density in the area, alongside growing national attention from the media and Members of Parliament such as Andy Slaughter over the need for second staircases in tall buildings, the context for this application was hardly straight forward.
Added to this, unlike the first application, a number of new residents occupied neighbouring land parcels and the anti-development groups in Hammersmith and Fulham remained vocal and active.
Despite these challenges, we undertook a consultation programme which focused on engaging key stakeholders, working with immediate neighbours and emphasising the benefits of the scheme and URW’s excellent reputation for delivery in the area.
The application was approved by Hammersmith and Fulham’s planning committee in early 2023.
